Maria Brushes The Outer Banks While A Cold Front Advances East Through The Ohio Valley

Hello everyone!
With minimal impacts expected from Maria as it drifts slowly, and then quickly, east, blog updates will return to the usual quiet weather format. Here are the three things you need to know about today’s weather:
- MARIA continues to bring breezy conditions and occasional rain showers to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. These impacts will continue through the day today as the system drifts ever so slowly off the coast.
- A COLD FRONT continues to march east through the northern part of the country. Another hot day is in store ahead of the boundary, while fall-like temperatures will be enjoyed behind the front. Along the front itself, some showers and storms are possible, but due to the strongest dynamics being up in Canada, storm intensity and coverage will be limited.
- RAIN will continue in Texas today out ahead of an upper level low. While no severe weather is expected, rainfall totals over 2″ are possible west of San Antonio which could lead to some localized flooding in the typical low-lying areas.
Elsewhere across the US, generally quiet weather is expected.
