Chance Of Scattered Thunderstorms In Parts Of The Plains Today
Hello everyone!
Today’s weather across the US will remain very quiet. A surface front draped across the Plains from New Mexico up to Wisconsin will provide just enough of a trigger for some thunderstorms to develop across parts of the Plains from Southern Iowa down to the Texas Panhandle. These storms are not expected to be widespread, nor overly severe, but a few damaging wind gusts are possible.
This high resolution model shows some showers and storms developing late this evening across parts of the Plains. Again, no widespread impacts are expected, but these storms are the most interesting weather to happen anywhere in the US in a few days.
Elsewhere across the country, our streak of very quiet weather continues for one more day today before a low pressure system develops along the front discussed above. This will happen tomorrow morning, and we’ll have much more to discuss in 24 hours.
