Quiet Weather Returns
Hello everyone!
As the storm that brought severe weather to parts of the Midwest moves into Atlantic Canada, quiet weather will return to the US today. A cold front will continue to move through the East Coast today, and by this evening, only Florida will remain ahead of the front. The upper level dynamics that have been helping to fuel severe weather in the past few days will be over 1,000 miles away from the southern part of the front this evening, and thus no severe weather is expected.
This simulated radar image valid this evening shows the quiet weather aside from a few showers and storms along the cold front still moving offshore in the Southeast.
Cool northwesterly breezes will dominate most of the rest of the country, while the Pacific Northwest sees rain and mountain snow showers on the southern edge of a stream of moisture headed for the west coast of Canada.
